Bratton Fleming | The Local Village

Arkadia Farm is based on the outskirts of the gorgeous village of Bratton Fleming. Below are some of the convenient amenities we have on our doorstep.

Local Village Shop

Offers your basic supplies, wines, beers and homemade food. Open 9am - 6pm weekdays & 9am - 5pm weekends.

Millennium Woods & Playground

A stunning 8 acre area of common land with streams, trees, & wonderful wildlife to see. View walks here. To the right of the land is recently refurbished playground.

Wood-Fired Pizza

The Exe Valley Pizza Company comes to the village every Wednesday evening. You can order on the night, or pre order here.

Fish & Chips Fridays

Every Friday there is a fish & chip van (opposite the village shop). Food is freshly made to order, available 5pm - 7:30pm.

Cash only.

Café Thursdays

The community café, hosted by the local committee, is open in Bratton Fleming Village Hall on Thursdays 2 - 3pm for teas, coffees & cakes.

Pop-Up Pub

Sadly, the local pub is closed (but the village are hoping to buy it back soon!). Instead, we have a monthly pop-up pub on the last Saturday of each month.

The Black Venus Inn

Located in Challcombe on the edge of Exmoor National Park, this is a cosy & traditional pub. An ideal location to stop after a walk.

About a 10 minute drive from the farm.

Beaches

This stunning part of the world is home to come of the most glorious beaches in the country (trust us!). Here are just a few of the beaches we love in the area...

Woolacombe

This beach is home to many rock pools, steep sand dunes, and plenty of space to explore. Woolacombe beach is a special destination for surfers, kite surfers, and sea swimmers.

Ilfracombe

Ilfracombe is a lovely town and features the prominent 'Verity' statue by Damien Hurst. There are several beaches to chose from in Ilfracombe including the famous Tunnels Beach.

Coombe Martin

There are two beaches to choose from in Coombe Martin. The main harbour beach is sandy and stony and the stony beach of Newberry. Both beaches have excellent rock pools.

Croyde

Famous for having one of the finest surfing beaches in the country, Croyde Bay is not a beach to be missed. The local village houses high quality pubs and amenities.

Saunton Sands

Saunton Sands is the perfect destination for dog walkers, with no summer restrictions meaning your furry friends can join your adventure. Gorgeous sands and surf await.

WestWard Ho!

WestWard Ho! is famous for its sprawling pebble ridge, classic seaside amenities, and a huge coastline of sandy beaches. This destination really has something for everyone.
